Southern California Thimble Collectors (SCTC) will celebrate their 40th anniversary this year.
To commemorate this event, the club asked for input from members in order to create meaningful design elements for their sterling silver anniversary thimble. The group decided to include the California state animal, the Grizzle bear, and the state flower, the Poppy. They also chose to include other Southern California iconic images like the sun, a seagull and palm trees.
They commissioned Tom Edwards, a Washington State silversmith, to create the finished product. Each thimble is stamped .925 and is signed “Tom E” and measures 2 cm in height and 1.5 cm across the opening.
All thimbles are new and in mint condition.
