Absolutely stunning antique English needle box/case dating to the 1830s. From the late Dorothy Howell Collection, Phillips Auction House, UK.
Lid opens and closes with ease and when opened, there are numerous slots for different sizes of needle packets. (See thumbnail)
The top is richly decorated with inlaid mother-of-pearl. Stems for leaves and flowers are made from tiny twisted silver. A small silver disc is present for someone to add their initials.
