A petite Canton bone thimble probably from an early English workbox.
Workboxes made for the European market often had this style of thimble in them. The thimble is carved from bone and constructed in two parts = The top and the body of the thimble. As is typical of antique bone, it ages and there are one or two very tiny hairline cracks where the body of the thimble meets the top. The thimble is sound.
Very good condition and a lovely example of early Canton workmanship.
