A number of fake Kay Thetford Kendall thimbles show up on eBay periodically. If you look closely at the thimble image, you will see where the silver has been molded (the mold line is clearly visible) and the hallmarking is very indistinct. See featured image with arrows.
Kay, an English silversmith, designed and made her silver thimbles during the early 1980s. She marked her thimbles very clearly with “DWK” and the thimbles are stamped with full English hallmarks.
